My new sewing patterns are in a magazine!

My new sewing patterns are in a magazine!

I have been keeping a secret for the last 12 months! And no it's not that I'm having a baby hahaha. It's that I have been working on two new sewing patterns!!!

Last October, I was selected to be featured in Issue No. 17 for Tauko Magazine.

If you aren't familiar, Tauko is an independent fashion/sewing magazine based out of Helsinki/Berlin. Each issue features 10 sewing patterns from sewing pattern designers across the world. I couldn't be more excited and grateful to be featured in this new issue!

Issue NO.17 is all about Joy, and my inspiration came from my earliest childhood memories of joy, which was dancing. I loved to dance as a child, and even envisioned that one day I might grow up to be a ballerina. I loved the beautiful costumes and how elegant the ballerinas looked.

Needless to say, I didn't become a ballet dancer, but I still love to dance to this day. And I believe we can dress up however we wish! So if you want to live out a childhood fantasy of being a ballerina with me, but aren't ready to commit to a life of strenuous exercises, long hours of training, and foot calluses, may I suggest a tendu top instead?

The Tendu top and Plié pants are a ballet-inspired athletic wear set. Tendu features a raglan sleeve design, wrap style with long ties that make it easy to adjust. The Plié pants are designed with a curved back yoke, hidden waistband pocket, and wide leg silhouette.

The fabric I used is the MAX Peached Performance fabric from Surge Fabric Shop.
Which is now my all time favorite athletic fabric. It is super soft, thick enough to provide good coverage, and has a lower level of compression. I am pretty particular about clothing, and hate when leggings hug me too tightly. This fabric gives the right amount of support, while leaving you room to breath.
I'll be wearing my ballet set to the grocery store, yoga class, and when I am working from home. I get to be a ballerina every day if I want :)

This issue is a beautiful one full of thoughtful stories, and gorgeous patterns. I hope you enjoy it, as much as I do.
